The Writing Center offers free consulting for students, staff, and faculty wishing to discuss their writing. Writing Center consultants work with writers at any stage of the writing process and on many different types of writing. Consultants can help with the following:
- essays - analyzing assignments and writing tasks
- research papers - addressing audiences appropriately
- creative writing - developing ideas
- lab reports - strengthening focus and organization
- thesis and dissertation chapters - increasing control over language
- graduate school applications - documenting sources
- resumes
- journal articles
Hours and Location
123 Madison Hall | Monday-Thursday, 9:00a-7:00p and Friday, 9:00a-3:00p
115 CCRH (Central Campus Residence Hall) | Sunday-Thursday, 6:00-8:00p
Although you are welcome to drop by the Writing Center in 123 Madison Hall, we recommend making an appointment to ensure a full fifty-minute session without any wait. CCRH consulting hours are drop-in only.
