Many F1 visa students would like to gain applied work experience in the U.S. during their studies and after they graduate. While there are some employment limitations for F1 students, knowing your work authorization options is the first step to enhancing your academic program and future career. With the proper understanding of employment eligibility, an F1 student can maximize his or her work experience in the U.S.

The International Student and Scholar Office (ISSO) provides employment eligibility information for F1 students on their website and through regularly scheduled workshops each semester. To learn more about employment options in the U.S. please visit the ISSO website, or contact Amanda Owens, International Student and Scholar Advisor at 256-824-2748.
